about

Every neighbourhood in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight has a dedicated neighbourhood policing team that works together with the local community and partners to: reduce crime and incidents, bring more offenders to justice, protect the vulnerable and tackle violence against women and girls, improve victim service and public confidence

Neighbourhood policing teams are led by senior police officers and include police officers, police community support officers (PCSOs), police staff and the Special Constabulary.

They aim to make communities safer through an approach that is focussed on engagement, offender management, safeguarding and problem solving.

You can receive regular updates from your local policing area by signing up to our community messaging system, Hampshire Alert. This allows residents to receive local information on incidents in or around their area.

  • Priority:

    ASB

    Issued 27 July 2026

    Action taken:

Bordon as had an increasing problem in recent months with ‘The Forest Centre’ and ‘The Shed’ in particular becoming a focal point for calls for service. Problem solving plan developed with learning from best practice from elsewhere to try and tackle this problem head on. Increased patrols and working with partners to try and improve the offer for young people in the area.

  • Priority:

    SHOPLIFTING

    Issued 27 July 2026

    Action taken:

Shoplifting is a widespread problem and the various business communities across East Hampshire were feeding back that they had low confidence in us to solve this problem. Review implemented as to how we deal with this crime type, and a new focus put on identifying and tackling offenders who travel into the area in particular in order to drive up solved rates and reduce commission rates which should rebuild public confidence.

  • Priority:

    SPEEDING

    Issued 27 July 2026

    Action taken:

Speeding is a problem that is consistently raised by communities across East Hampshire as an important issue for them. We have merged various local priorities into one district priorities to try and ensure that ouR approach is as consistent and widespread as possible. Continued support of Community Speedwatch schemes, all district staff trained in use of the speed gun and working with RPOU are just some of the steps we have taken.
