Even before the Equality Act 2010 brought in a general equality duty for all public authorities, equality and inclusion was very important to us.
We have a number of initiatives in place, including Police Link Officers for the Deaf (PLOD), LGBT+ Link Officers who support our LGBT communities, a Hate Crime Resource Group, scrutiny from a strategic independent advisory group and more. We extend our commitments to our staff and officers, as well as the public.
