A man has been arrested as part of an investigation into a sexual assault of a woman in Winchester.
It follows a report of an incident that took place some time between 7.50am and 8am on Tuesday 26 May, in the alleyway between Fox Lane and Stanmore Lane.
It was reported that a 22-year-old woman, who was walking through the alleyway, was approached by a man and then sexually assaulted.
Yesterday evening (Monday 1 June), officers arrested a 35-year-old man from Winchester on suspicion of sexual assault and stalking involving fear of violence.
He is currently in police custody.
Officers continue to carry out a number of enquiries in relation to this incident.
