We are appealing for information following a fatal collision in Eastleigh.
Emergency services were called just after 10:13am yesterday (Thursday 11 June) to an incident involving a lorry and a pedestrian at the junction of Leigh Road and Bournemouth Road in Eastleigh.
The pedestrian, a 55-year-old man from Eastleigh, died at the scene of the incident. His next of kin have been informed.
A 57-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless/inconsiderate driving and has been released under investigation whilst our enquiries continue.
We would like to thank motorists for their patience as a road closure was in place for several hours as emergency services responded to the incident.
We would like to speak to any witnesses and in particular anyone with relevant doorbell, dashcam, or mobile phone footage of the of the incident or the moments leading up to it.
