We are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Ryde.
On 1 June at around 2.15am-2.20am, it was reported that a man was punched in Union Street in Ryde, causing him to fall and hit his head on the floor.
The victim, a man in his 20s from Cowes, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, but has since been discharged.
The man who allegedly punched him has been described by witnesses as white, aged between 20-30, short in height and stocky build. He had short brown hair and was wearing a light coloured top.
Officers are carrying out extensive enquiries in order to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident and identify those involved, including reviewing CCTV footage and speaking witnesses who were in the area at the time.
