We are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a fatal collision on the A30.
We were called at 8.34pm yesterday evening (9 June) to a report of a collision on the junction of Windmill Hill Lane and the A30 near Leckford.
This involved a silver Volkswagen Transporter van and a blue Honda motorcycle.
Sadly the rider of the motorcyclist, a 19-year-old man from Andover, died at the scene.
The driver of the van, a 45-year-old man from Alresford, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care and attention whilst unfit through drink, causing death by driving without due care and attention whilst unfit through drugs, driving while unfit through drink, and driving while unfit through drugs.
He remains in custody.
As part of our investigation into the circumstances surrounding this collision, we would like to speak to any witnesses to the collision itself as well as anyone who saw either vehicle in the area before the collision.
We would particularly like to speak to anyone with relevant dash cam footage.
