We are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of a serious assault in Basingstoke.
Police were called to a report that a man had been stabbed at around 1.10am on Monday 2 September on Kimberley Road in South Ham.
The man, who is in his 30s, also had a rucksack stolen during the incident.
He was taken to hospital to be treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries to his face, head and neck.
As part of our enquiries, a 42-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and robbery.
He has been bailed with conditions, pending further enquiries.
Officers would like to appeal for witnesses as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Were you in the area at the time? Did you witness the incident or any suspicious behaviour?
Do you have any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage that could assist with our enquiries?
