Officers investigating a series of indecent exposures in the Riverside Park area of Southampton now have CCTV imagery to release to the public, as they continue their enquiries into the incidents.
Last Thursday (2 May), we were called to three reports of a man indecently exposing himself to a woman in her 30s, a woman in her 40s and a 16-year-old girl between 4.20pm and 7pm. The incidents happened in the wooded area between St Marys Church and Monks Way and near to Mansbridge bridge.
As a result of our initial witness appeal, we have also had a fourth incident reported to us in which a man exposed himself to a 16-year-old girl at Swaythling train station on the same day, at around 6.30pm.
Officers attended and carried out a thorough search, which included specialist support from our dog unit and police helicopter.
We have remained in Riverside Park and the surrounding area every day since, at various times of the day and night. While we have been carrying out dedicated patrols, additional officers have been carrying out enquiries in order to identify and locate the person involved. These have included house to house and CCTV scoping, with officers reviewing hours of footage from nearby businesses, public transport services and residential properties.
As a result of this, we have obtained these CCTV images of a man, seen in the area at the time of the reports, who we would like to speak to in connection with these incidents. We do appreciate that these images are not very clear, however they are the best we have available at this time. Our CCTV scoping is continuing and we will update you if we get any further images. The man is described as:
