Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery following an incident in Andover.
We were called at 10.41pm on Monday 27 May. It was reported that a man in his 30s was walking along London Road, near the junction with Woodlands Way, when a small blue car stopped nearby.
A man got out of the car, threatened the victim with what was described as a small knife, and attempted to take his bags.
Another car then passed the scene, and the man got back into the blue car. It was then driven away in the direction of Andover town centre.
Nothing was stolen.
Officers attended and following enquiries, a car was stopped near Ampfield.
Two men, both aged 19 and from Basingstoke, were arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery. They remain in police custody while we carry out further enquiries.
Were you in this area at the time? Did you see anything suspicious, or did you capture anything on a dashcam that may be relevant to our investigation?
In particular, we would like to hear from the motorist who was reported to have driven past this scene, as they may hold important information that could help our enquiries.
Anyone with information on what happened should call police on 101, quoting the crime reference number 44240222725.
