Appeal for footage as part of investigation into Ryde vehicle crime series

Ryde Neighbourhoods Policing Team (NPT) are investigating a series of vehicle crimes, and are encouraging anyone with CCTV or Doorbell camera footage to make contact with police.

The incidents have reportedly occurred some time between the evening of 8 January and the morning of 10 January this year.

At present we have had 22 reports of vehicles broken into across Ryde and Binstead, Oakfield and Elmfield, and three reports of vehicles being stolen. The three stolen vehicles have since been recovered.

Some of the targeted vehicles were left unlocked, and thieves have predominantly been stealing loose change from inside.

NPT officers have been making enquiries this week and scoping CCTV footage.
