We’re investigating an incident that occurred in a play park in Ryde, and would like to hear from witnesses.
It was reported that at 2.25pm on Saturday 15 April, a man entered the play park on Ryde Esplanade carrying a long stick, which he proceeded to swing around causing members of the public to leave the park in fear.
The man then walked off towards Ryde boat lake.
Officers attended and arrested a 49-year-old man on suspicion of common assault, possession of an offensive weapon, and possession of cannabis.
He was bailed with conditions until 15 July while further enquiries are carried out.
We would like to hear from the members of the public who were present at the park at this time and witnessed the incident.
