Appeal for witnesses after attempted burglary in Preston Candover
Main article content
We are appealing for witnesses following reports of an attempted burglary at a property on Alresford Road in Preston Candover on Monday 30 August.
At 11.04pm, we were called to reports of two men in a silver Honda CR-V trying to gain access to a part of the property.
They were disturbed and fled the scene. Nothing was reported stolen.
This incident was reported to us five days after an attempted burglary at a property on Winchester Road near Kingsclere.
Again, the suspects were disturbed before fleeing the scene and nothing was reported stolen. At this time, there is nothing to suggest both incidents are linked.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind homeowners to immediately phone the police if they see any suspicious activity near their property.
Please phone 999 during an emergency, such as:
- A danger to life
- A crime is happening now (or has just happened)
- Having immediate concerns for safety
- A dangerous incident on the motorway
- Seeing something suspicious that needs immediate attention
- Please do not attempt to apprehend offenders on your own - call us immediately
Report online or use 101 for any crimes that are not currently in progress or have not just happened.
If you saw any suspicious behaviour in the Preston Candover area at around 11pm on Monday 30 August, please get in touch.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting 44210347153. Alternatively, you can contact independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
