We were called at 10.44pm last night (Saturday, August 31, to a report of a disturbance at an address in Shooters Way, Basingstoke.
On arrival, officers found a man who had sustained stab wounds. Ambulance crews were in attendance and he was taken to hospital where he sadly died.
Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident. They are:
A 29 year old man from Basingstoke
A 36 year old woman from Basingstoke
A 29 year old man from Basingstoke
A 16 year old male from Croydon
A formal identification of the deceased man has not yet taken place.
They are also investigating a second incident that could potentially be related.
At 10.53pm, the Ambulance Service reported they had been called to a man with stab wounds in nearby Normanton Road, Basingstoke.
He has been taken to hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.
DCI Dave Storey from Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Crime Unit said: “We would like to reassure the public that we are treating these incidents as potentially linked and targeted events.
“There is a police cordon in place at this time and officers are carrying out house to house enquiries. Officers will also be carrying out extra patrols in the area so if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to them.
“If you were in the vicinity last night and if you saw or heard anything suspicious, please get in touch by calling 101, quoting Operation Carr.
“If you were driving in the vicinity and have dash cam footage around that time, please also get in touch quoting the same reference.”
