Detectives continue to investigate an assault on a 63-year-old woman in Bishop’s Waltham.
Officers attended a house in Oak Road after being called at 11.30am on Monday 22 July.
The woman had sustained stab wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are described as serious but not life threatening.
A 51-year-old woman from Bishop’s Waltham has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and is currently in police custody.
Detectives have today (Tuesday 23 July) been granted an extension to continue questioning her.
Detective Sergeant Steve Morrison said: “Our enquiries will continue today, so if you have any information about what took place then please contact us.
“This is being treated as an isolated incident, with no ongoing risk to the wider community.
“Residents will continue to see a police presence in the area today, as officers make their enquiries. If you have any concerns about this incident or anything else, then please speak to them.”
