Summary of Conduct
It is alleged that former Detective Sergeant Jonathan Ramchurn engaged in persistent unwanted contact with a former partner, despite being informed such contact was unwelcome.
It is alleged that he made intrusive and inappropriate audio recordings of the individual without her knowledge or consent.
It is also alleged that he engaged in sexual activity whilst on duty.
These behaviours, if proven or admitted, are a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour namely under Duties and Responsibilities, Orders and Instructions, Honesty and Integrity, Authority, Respect and Courtesy and Discreditable Conduct.
It is assessed that these matters individually and collectively amount to gross misconduct, a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour so serious that, if proven, former DS Ramchurn’s dismissal would have been justified, had he not already resigned.
