Witness appeal

We are appealing for information after a woman was knocked to the ground during an assault in Andover.

The victim, a 23-year-old woman, was walking to work on a path by River Way, at around 3.30am on Wednesday 9 August, when she saw three men and a woman walking towards her.

As the group went past, one of the men barged into the victim, knocking her to the ground.

The group stood around her for a short time before walking off.

The woman was left shaken but did not receive injuries.

The man who barged into the woman is described as:

• white
• aged in his early 20s
• around 5ft 10ins tall
• of stocky build with big arms
• very short brown hair
• wore a dark-coloured t-shirt and knee-length shorts

PC Dumisani Sikhosana said: “This appears to have been a one-off incident where the victim did not know anyone in the group that approached her.

“This was early in the morning but we would like to hear from anyone who has any information about this incident, or anyone who was in the area at the time.”
