Witness appeal after man is assaulted in Portsmouth

We’re appealing for witnesses to an assault, which happened in Crasswell Street on Friday (12 May).

Sometime between 7pm and 9pm a 32-year-old man was walking out of Denmead House when he was assaulted by a man who was known to him.

The victim sustained broken ribs and a punctured spleen and was treated at QA Hospital for his injuries.

A 29-year-old man from Southsea has been arrested on suspicion of wound / inflict grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released from custody but remains under investigation.
