Witness appeal

Do you recognise this woman?

We would like to speak to her as part of a Southampton robbery investigation.

It was reported that at around 4.30pm on Monday 28 August, a 53-year-old man was withdrawing cash from an ATM at Sainsbury’s on Redcar Street, off of Shirley High Street, when he was approached by a woman he did not know.

The woman asked the victim for the time before pushing him and grabbing £100 cash from the cash machine. She then ran off in the direction of Shirley High Street.

Officers would like to identify and speak to the woman shown in the CCTV image as she may have information to help our enquiries.

PC Rebecca Gooch said: “We are keen to identify the woman in this image so we can speak with her about this incident.

“Further to this, we would also ask that anyone who witnessed the incident comes forward and talks to us.

“This took place in a busy area in the afternoon. There were a number of people around during this time, so if you saw anything, or know who was involved, please get in touch.”
