Appeal for witnesses following Houndwell Park assault

We are appealing for witnesses to an assault incident in Southampton this morning (Monday 11 September).

It was reported that at around 10.50am the 28-year-old victim was involved in an altercation with another man in Houndwell Park, close to the children’s playground by the bus stops, when he was assaulted.

He suffered a small stab wound to his hip as a result.

The man alleged to have committed the assault has been described as white, around 5ft 7ins tall, and wearing a dark hooded top and a satchel.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened.

Detective Constable Marsha Brown said: “Were you in the Houndwell Park area around the time of the incident?

“Did you see a dispute between two men? We would like to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident and identify the person responsible.”
