Appeal following handbag robbery in Leigh Park

We are appealing for witnesses after a woman had her handbag snatched during a robbery in Leigh Park.

Between 10.30pm and 11pm on Saturday 12 May, a 59-year-old woman was walking along Middle Park Way, close to Park Community School, when she was approached from behind by a woman she did not know on a bicycle.

The cyclist struck the victim over the head and grabbed her hand bag before riding off. The victim did not sustain any injuries.

The woman on the bike has been described as:

• White
• Skinny
• Blonde
• Aged 25-30 years
• Wearing dark clothing and a white scarf
