Man jailed for Isle of Wight drug supply offences after police seize large quantities of cash and drugs

A man has been jailed for drugs supply offences on the Isle of Wight.

Liam Estridge, aged 35, appeared at Southampton Crown Court on Monday 11 November where he pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of cannabis with intent to supply, possession of criminal property, and driving without insurance.

This follows a drugs warrant at Estridge’s address in Harts Lane, Rookley, on Thursday 12 September, during which police seized a large quantity of cocaine, cannabis, drugs paraphernalia, and more than £17,000 in cash.

Estridge appeared at Isle of Wight Crown Court for sentencing on Monday 6 January this year, where he was handed a three year prison sentence, and also given 8 points on his driving licence.

Detective Sergeant Mick Redfern said: “Officers conducting the warrant at Estridge’s home unearthed a substantial amount of cash and drugs which were indicative of his involvement in supply.

“The supply of drugs destroys lives – it sees vulnerable people exploited, and is often linked to serious violence including the use of weapons.

“There is no place for it on our Island, and tackling drugs supply is a priority for policing teams here.

“Seizing drugs, conducting warrants, making arrests and locking up drug dealers is all made possible because of the information you provide to us.

“We encourage members of the public to keep reporting concerns around drug dealing and suspicious activity in their neighbourhood to police. You won’t always see an immediate police response, but every piece of information you provide forms part of the intelligence picture which enables us to take action against those involved in supplying drugs.”
