An 18-year-old man from Totton has been arrested on suspicion of burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal.
The arrest followed a report, shortly after 11pm yesterday (Wednesday 8 January), of a suspicious person in the area of Eling Infant School.
The man was also arrested on suspicion of going equipped for burglary and possession of a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place.
He remains in police custody at this time.
Involved in the search and arrest of the man were officers from Lyndhurst District Policing Team and Romsey DPT, as well as Police Dog Diesel and handler.
Items were also seized, including tools and lead flashing.
