A woman has been charged with shoplifting and assault following separate incidents in Basingstoke.
Donna Kemp, 40, of Melrose Walk, Basingstoke, has been charged with eight counts of theft from a shop.
It comes after officers received reports that items worth £907.58 were stolen from One Stop on Shakespeare Road and the M&S and Boots stores in Chineham.
Some of the items stolen between 30 July and 31 August included meat, coffee and cosmetic products.
Kemp was also charged with assault by beating and common assault following an unrelated incident on 17 July.
Officers received reports that members of the public were physically and verbally abused on Melrose Walk.
Kemp was also charged with racially / religiously aggravated harassment / alarm / distress by words / writing and using threatening / abusive / insulting words / behaviour to cause harassment / alarm / distress in relation to this incident.
She is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today (6 September).
