Woman, 40, arrested following reports of shoplifting in Basingstoke

Officers investigating reports of shoplifting in Basingstoke have arrested a woman.
We attended an address in the Popley area this morning (5 September) and made an arrest.
A 40-year-old woman from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of eight counts of theft from a shop.
She remains in custody while our enquiries continue.
It comes after reports of a number of shoplifting incidents at One Stop on Shakespeare Road, and the M&S and Boots stores in Chineham.
