Officers from Winchester’s District Priority Team joined forces with the local neighbourhood team to execute a warrant yesterday (Tuesday 24 September), in connection with an ongoing drug supply investigation.
The warrant was conducted at an address in Shawford.
Officers seized suspected Class B drugs, as well as scales, a sword and pepper spray.
A 15-year-old boy from the Winchester area was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B.
He was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a section 5 firearm – the pepper spray, and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
He has been released from custody but remains under investigation.
Inspector Matt Kirby said: “This warrant is part of our ongoing effort to target and disrupt the supply of drugs in Winchester.
“Drug supply exploits the most vulnerable members of our society and causes harm, violence and misery which is why we will continue to relentlessly pursue those involved.
“We also want to thank the local community for their continued support in helping us push out serious organised crime. Your information helps us target our patrols and build a picture of what is happening.”
