Officers investigating reports that a car, cash and bank cards were stolen during a burglary in Basingstoke have charged a man.
We were called on Wednesday 14 August after a property on Abbey Road had been accessed. Items including car and motorbike keys, jewellery, cash and bank cards had been stolen.
A Nissan Qashqai was taken from the address, while stolen bank cards were also used.
Officers from the Northern Area Crime Team launched an investigation and the vehicle was located later that morning on Bennet Close.
A number of enquiries were carried out and officers arrested a man yesterday (1 September). He has since been charged.
Daniel Malcolm, 46, of no fixed abode, has been charged with burglary dwelling and theft and taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
He has also be charged with three counts of fraud by false representation.
Malcolm is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today (2 September).
