New Milton man charged with drug and assault offences

A 26-year-old man from New Milton has been charged with drugs and assault offences.

Scott John William Smith, of Barton Court Road, has been charged with the following offences;

• Assault a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm
• Common assault of an emergency worker
• Criminal damage
• Possession of a controlled drug of Class B
• Racially / religiously aggravated intentional harassment / alarm / distress – words / writing
• Common assault

The charges come after police were called to a report of a disturbance at an address on Barton Court Road on Wednesday evening (4 September).

Smith is appearing at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday 6 September).
