Man charged with domestic assaults and stalking in Gosport & Petersfield

A man has been charged with domestic abuse offences including assaults and stalking in Gosport and Petersfield.

Callum Hornby, aged 23, has been charged in connection with a series of incidents which are alleged to have been perpetrated against a woman between 31 August 2023 and 29 September this year.

The charges are as follows:

• Assault by beating at an address in Petersfield between 31 August 2023 and 1 October 2023.
• Intentional Suffocation in Grange Road, Petersfield on 16 February 2024.
• Intentional Strangulation in Grange Road, Petersfield on 16 February 2024.
• Assault occasioning actual bodily harm in Grange Road, Petersfield on 16 February 2024.
• Attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent on 9 March 2024 in Princes Road, Petersfield.
• Assault occasioning actual bodily harm on 9 March 2024 in The Square, Petersfield.
• Assault occasioning actual bodily harm at an address in Hanbidge Walk, Gosport, between 31 May and 1 July 2024.
• Criminal damage at an address in Hanbidge Walk, Gosport on 24 August 2024.
• Intentional Strangulation at an address in Hanbidge Walk, Gosport, on 24 August 2024.
• Assault occasioning actual bodily harm at an address in Hanbidge Walk, Gosport, on 25 August 2024.
• Making threats to kill at an address in Hanbidge Walk, Gosport, on 11 September 2024.
• Stalking involving serious alarm or distress between 25 September 2024 and 29 September 2024.

Hornby, of Hanbidge Walk in Gosport, was remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Tuesday 1 October).

At the hearing, he was further remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on 4 November.
