A man has been jailed for 12 weeks after he stole items worth more than £500 from a shop in Aldershot.
Karl Jennings, 37, of no fixed abode, stole men’s grooming products and gift sets from Boots in the Wellington Centre between 18 September and 4 October.
The total value of items stolen was £529.37.
Jennings was arrested by officers and later charged with four counts of theft from a shop.
He pleaded guilty to all offences and was jailed for a total of 12 weeks at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Friday 18 October.
Police Sergeant Rob Tiller, from the Aldershot Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We know the impact Karl Jennings’ actions had on businesses, shop workers and the wider community.
“Our message is clear – shoplifting and this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated in Aldershot.
“We take reports like this extremely seriously and will do all we can to put offenders before the courts.”
