We are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Fleet
At 8.30am this morning (Friday 18 October) a 15-year-old boy was walking along a footpath which runs alongside Hope Cemetery in Victoria Road.
He was then approached by two males who demanded the boy hand over his phone. When he refused, the males then struck him to the face and slashed him across the face with a knife, causing minor injuries. The males then run off.
One of them was described as white, aged 17-20 years old, about 6ft 2in tall, muscular build, no facial hair, short brown hair. He was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and grey jumper and black Nike trainers.
The second was described as black, aged 17-20 years old, about 6ft 1in tall, slim build. He was wearing a black balaclava, black tracksuit bottoms, black jumper and a grey pair of trainers.
Acting Inspector Geoff Hill said: “This type of incident is extremely rare in this area and we know residents will be concerned.
“We want to reassure you that we are working hard to identify those involved and we have already stepped up local patrols in response to this.
“If you have any concerns, please speak to one of our officers who will be in the area.”
If anyone has any information regarding this incident or the males involved, please call 101 quoting reference 44240453307.
