Detectives investigating allegations of kidnap and assault in Southampton have now charged a man.
The charges come following reports of a domestic-related incident, whereby a woman is alleged to have been assaulted, on Queensway / Bell Street at around 15.05pm on Saturday 9 November.
Suraj Rana, aged 34, of Thomas Street, Smethwick, Sandwell has been charged with kidnap, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault by beating.
He appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court on Monday 11 November and was further remanded into custody. Rana is due to next appear at Southampton Crown Court on Friday 13 December 2024.
