Officers in Totton have today (Monday 4 November) sent out another clear message that suspected drug-related activity will not be tolerated in our communities.
Just before 7am, a Section. 23 Misuse of Drugs Act warrant was executed at an address on Salisbury Road.
After entering the property, items were seized, including cash and a large quantity of Class B drugs.
An 18-year-old man from Totton was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of Class B. He remains in police custody at this time.
Involved in this morning’s operation were officers from Totton and New Forest Heart Neighbourhood Policing Teams, New Forest Priority Crime Team, Police Dog Benji, and his handler, PC Plummer.
Following the early-morning call-on, Sergeant Rob Blake, of Totton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We have today acted on intelligence that the public have provided us, and we will continue to respond to information received, wherever possible.
“Please continue to keep us updated on any suspected criminality in the Totton area, so we can keep carrying out proactive operations such as the one this morning.”
On the importance of the public’s assistance, Sergeant Blake, said: “We will always look to tackle drug-related activity in our communities, but we can only do so with the support and information of those who live in the affected areas.
“As our eyes and ears on the ground, please continue to let us know about activity in the areas in which you live.
“The more information you share with us, the more we can develop this, and the more action we can take, including the execution of warrants and the targeting of suspected criminals causing the most harm to our communities."
Anyone who has any information about drug-related activity in their neighbourhood can contact us on 101, or report online via the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website, always calling 999 in an emergency.
