A Southampton man has been charged following shoplifting incidents and public order offences against two police officers in the city over the weekend.
On Saturday (25 May) shortly after 8.15pm, CCTV operators in Southampton were made aware that a man had entered the Co-op store on Commercial Road and stolen various items.
Patrolling police were alerted and attempted to speak with the man believed to have been involved on Kingsbridge Lane, who was verbally abusive and attempted to evade officers.
Cameron Cole, 24, of Shirley Park Road, was arrested and charged with theft and two counts of using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm or distress.
He is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on June 7th.
