Man, 41, charged following residential burglary series in Hampshire and Dorset

Officers investigating a series of residential burglaries in Hampshire and Dorset have charged a man.

Andrew Donoghue, 41, of no fixed abode, has been charged with six counts of burglary dwelling and theft, one count of burglary dwelling – with intent to steal and one count of attempted burglary dwelling with intent to steal.

It comes after officers received reports that:

• On 17 May, entry was gained to two properties on Bernard Avenue, Four Marks. Jewellery was stolen from both addresses.
• On 17 May, entry was gained to a property on Blackberry Lane, Four Marks. Cash, vouchers and jewellery was stolen from the address.
• On 17 May, entry was gained to a property on Siskin Close, Bishop’s Waltham. Jewellery was stolen from the address.
• On 17 May, entry was gained to a property on Warnford Road, Corhampton. Jewellery was stolen from the address.
• On 8 May, entry was gained to a property on Sandy Lane, Colehill, Dorset. Enquiries are ongoing to determine which items were taken from the address.
• On 3 May, an attempt was made to enter a property on Woodfield Drive, Winchester. Nothing has been reported stolen.
• On 24 April, entry was gained to a property on Harewood Avenue, Bournemouth. Jewellery was stolen from the address.

The charges follow an investigation by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary’s Northern Area Crime Team.

Donoghue is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today (20 May).
