Officers investigating a robbery at a Newport shop have charged a man.
Police were called to Central Stores on the High Street at 2.18pm on 21 March where it’s alleged a man assaulted two members of staff and stole £20 from the till.
Following enquiries, 30-year-old Daniel Taylor, of Lowtherville Road in Ventnor, was arrested and charged with two counts of robbery.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday 22 March).
At the hearing, he was remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Crown Court on 29 April.
