A woman has been jailed for jailed for 20 months after stealing items worth more than £300 from stores in Fleet.
Hannah Brown, 45, of no fixed abode, was charged with two counts of theft from a shop.
The charges come after £186 worth of alcohol and meat was taken from Waitrose on Wednesday 1 May. Meanwhile, crisps and alcohol worth £131.50 was taken from Sainsbury’s on Friday 3 May.
Brown pleaded guilty to the offences and was jailed for a total of 20 months after a suspended sentence order was activated at Winchester Crown Court on Friday 14 June.
PC Neve Fitzgerald, from the Fleet Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We know the impact Hannah Brown’s actions had on businesses, shop workers and the wider community.
“Our message is clear – shoplifting and this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated in Fleet.
“We take reports like this extremely seriously and will do all we can to put offenders before the courts.”
