Officers investigating reports of an assault in Basingstoke have charged a man.
We were called at 5.45pm on Monday 17 June to reports of an altercation outside the Tesco Express store on Carpenters Down.
It was reported that a man in his 30s was threatened by a man who was in possession of a hammer and knife.
The man was then assaulted and suffered a minor injury.
Stuart Dickman, 39, of Bermuda Close, Basingstoke, has been charged with assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm and two counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
He was also charged with possessing a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place.
Dickman is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today (20 June).
