Drugs supply arrests made following vehicle stop in Andover

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of drugs supply offences after patrolling officers stopped a vehicle in Andover.

The stop was made in Saxon Way just after 4pm on Saturday 15 June.

Officers found wraps of suspected Class A dugs during a search of the car, as well as mobile phones and cash.

A wrench, a Stanley knife and half a pool cue were also found in the vehicle.

The driver, a 30-year-old man from Reading, Berkshire, was arrested on suspicion of a drug driving offence, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

The passenger, a 24-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, possession of a controlled drug of Class B and possession of an offensive weapon.

Both men have been released on police bail with conditions until Sunday 15 September while we carry out further enquiries.
