A man has been jailed for two years after stealing alcohol from an events hall in Aldershot.
Wesley Owens, 36, of Caesars Camp Road, Camberley, broke into Empire Banqueting & Hall on High Street at around 9.30pm on Monday 25 March.
Once inside, he stole four bottles of alcohol from behind the bar before fleeing the scene.
At the time of the offence, Owens was banned from entering Aldershot and was arrested three days later. During his arrest, officers found suspected Class A drugs.
Owens was later charged with burglary other than dwelling – theft and possessing a controlled drug of Class A.
He pleaded guilty to both offences and was jailed for two years at Winchester Crown Court on Friday 28 June.
Police Staff Investigator Alexander Dale said: “Wesley Owens is a prolific offender in the Aldershot area and his behaviour has impacted another business in the town.
“Our message is clear – this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated in Aldershot. We take reports like this extremely seriously and our officers will do all we can to put offenders before the courts.”
