A man has been jailed for eight weeks for taking a car without the owner’s consent before stealing more than £100 worth of fuel in Farnborough.
We received a report that a silver Mazda had been stolen from Peel Road, Farnborough, on 25 June.
On 28 June, the car was driven to the Shell petrol station on Farnborough Road. The driver then filled containers with diesel worth £126.82.
Officers identified the man driving the car and arrested him.
Craig Mahon, 33, of Peel Court, Farnborough, was charged with taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and making off without payment.
He pleaded guilty to both offences and was jailed for eight weeks at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Tuesday 2 July.
