We have charged two men following a robbery at a One Stop store in Southampton.
We were called at 2.22pm on Friday (29 December) to a report that a man carrying a knife had entered the store on Butts Road. He jumped over the counter and stole the till before running away with a second man.
No-one was injured during the incident.
Officers investigating the robbery have now arrested and charged two men.
Benjamin Andrew McEwan, 38, of Montague Avenue, has been charged with robbery and possession of a knife in a public place. He appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday 1 January) where he was remanded into custody. He will next appear at Southampton Crown Court on Monday 29 January.
Kevin Alan Taylor, 42, of no fixed abode, has been charged with robbery. He appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday 2 January) where he was also remanded into custody. He will next appear at Southampton Crown Court on Friday 2 February.
