Man jailed for 13 years for rape

A man has been jailed for raping a woman.
Darren House, of Whiteacres Close in Gosport, was sentenced yesterday at Portsmouth Crown Court.
The 46-year-old was charged with one count of rape and one count of assault by penetration, relating to an incident which happened in Gosport on 3 May 2023.
The woman, aged in her 40s, provided a statement to be read to the court on her behalf: “I literally think about this incident most days. It makes me feel sick when I think about it.
“When I think about it, I get upset, I cry and shake. Even now. I feel humiliated and degraded by him. I have to live with this for the rest of my life.”
House was sentenced yesterday to 13 years in prison.
