A 21-year-old man from Totton has been charged with three shoplifting offences from stores in Totton and Calmore.
Shane Wright, of no fixed abode, was arrested by officers in Calmore Drive yesterday (Tuesday 30 January).
He was subsequently charged with a shoplifting from Morrisons in Nutshalling Close, Calmore on Sunday 21 January, and two shopliftings from Morrisons Daily in Water Lane, Totton on Wednesday 17 and Saturday 27 January.
He appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday 31 January) and has been remanded in custody to next appear at the same court tomorrow (Thursday 1 February).
A second man, 23, of no fixed abode, was also arrested in Calmore Drive at the same time.
He was wanted on warrant for failing to appear at court in connection with a report of shoplifting at the Co-op, Salisbury Road, Totton on Saturday 11 November 2023.
He has been bailed to next appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 25 June.
