A 32-year-old man from Holbury has been jailed after pleading guilty to stealing more than £150 worth of goods from a shop in Holbury.
Steven Frederick Scaum, of no fixed abode, was already wanted on a recall to prison when he was arrested in Long Lane on Friday (16 February).
He appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court later the same day and was sentenced to two weeks’ imprisonment.
It followed an incident on 24 January when he entered the Co-op on Long Lane and placed £157.90 worth of items in a basket.
He then left the store without making any attempt to pay for the goods.
As well as the time he’ll now spend behind bars, Scaum must also pay compensation totalling £157.90.
