Officers investigating an altercation in Southampton on Tuesday evening (December 10) have now charged a 15-year-old boy in connection with the incident.
We were called shortly after 6.40pm to reports of an altercation taking place on North East Road.
It was reported that a group of four males were involved in the altercation and that weapons, including poles and hammers, had been seen. It was also reported that a man had been hit with a car as a result of the incident.
Officers attended and located a man in his 20s and a man in his 50s with minor injuries.
On attendance, police were told that the altercation had taken place after a 15-year-old girl reported that two males had asked her to get into their car.
The 15-year-old boy, who is from Southampton, has been charged with attempted kidnap, two counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, theft, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and affray.
He has been remanded into custody and will appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday (16 December).
Our enquiries into the wider circumstances of the incident remain ongoing.
