A man has been charged with drug offences and assaulting police officers following an incident in Basingstoke.
We were called at 9.40pm on Friday 13 December to reports of drug-related activity near the town centre.
Officers searched a car on Red Lion Lane and found suspected Class A drugs and drug paraphernalia. A man and a woman were arrested at the scene and two officers were assaulted.
Reece Henry, 30, of Worting Road, Basingstoke, has since been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A and possessing a controlled drug of Class B.
He has also been charged with two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker. Henry is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today (16 December).
A 40-year-old woman from London was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A. She has been bailed with conditions, pending further enquiries.
