Officers investigating a public order incident involving two people on scrambler-type motorbikes in Andover have made an arrest.
We received a call at 3.56pm on Friday 27 December about an incident in the East Anton Farm Road area.
It was reported that two riders on scrambler-type motorbikes deliberately drove towards a man who was walking along a footpath in Rye Way. The man ran away from the scene and was not injured in the incident.
The suspects reportedly rode off along East Anton Farm Road.
It was reported that one of the motorbike riders was carrying a machete/sword type weapon at the time.
Officers attended the scene and an investigation was launched.
Today (Tuesday 31 December) officers arrested a 22-year-old man from Andover on suspicion of a public order offence and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
He is currently in police custody while our enquiries continue.
