A woman has been jailed for 14 weeks after she breached a Criminal Behaviour Order and stole items worth more than £50 from a shop in Aldershot.
Abbie Folkes, 31, of East Street, Farnham, was charged with two counts of theft from a shop and two counts of breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order.
It comes after officers received reports that items were stolen from Bargain Buys on 22 and 23 July.
Folkes admitted stealing the items and also pleaded guilty to breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order which banned her from entering Aldershot until December 2028.
She was jailed for a total of 14 weeks when she appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court yesterday (1 August).
Rushmoor Inspector Mike Hall said: “Abbie Folkes is a prolific shoplifter whose behaviour and disregard for the law has had a huge impact on various local businesses and retailers in the town.
“A Criminal Behaviour Order banned her from entering Aldershot for five years, but she brazenly ignored this and continued to visit the area to commit crime.
“I hope this result sends a message to offenders that this level of behaviour and criminality in the local community will not be tolerated.”
