Police investigating a robbery in Southampton on Wednesday afternoon (7 August) have now charged a man.
At around 1pm a 12-year-old boy was approached by a man at Weston Shore, who made threatening comments towards him and stole his e-scooter.
When he was challenged by a man in his 20s and a man in his 30s, he threatened them with a machete.
Specialist officers were deployed to the area who arrested the man and seized two knives.
Kwame Pierre-Bondzie, 18, of no fixed abode, has been charged with robbery, possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place and threatening a person with a blade/sharply pointed article in a public place. He is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court this morning (Friday 9 August).
A 19-year-old man from Newham was also arrested on suspicion of robbery, possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place and being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug. He has been released from police custody on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
