A man has been charged following a protest in Southampton on Wednesday night (August 7).
Ryan Wheatley, 40, of Malvern Close, Fair Oak, has been charged with assault by beating of an emergency worker.
He will appear before Southampton Magistrates' Court this morning (August 9).
Two others arrested on Wednesday night have been released on bail while our investigation continues.
A 17-year-old boy from Eastleigh, arrested in Southampton on suspicion of attempted criminal damage, and a 17-year-old boy from Portsmouth, arrested in Portsmouth on suspicion of wilfully obstructing the highway, have both been bailed until November.
